Sky Blue

Sky Blue is reminiscent of the Ergo Proxy series although i'm not sure which came first. Both revolve around large cities designed to support life in the post-apocalyptic wasteland. This wasteland comes alive through the revolutionary techniques used in the production of sky blue - a combination of drawn characters, 3D CGI environments and actual footage using miniatures for backdrops. This may sound odd but it creates an amazing life to the movie without the different techniques being obvious. If you didn't know there was real footage in there you would never realise through watching the movie but it still adds to the overall atmosphere.
The movie gives pause for thought on an almost cliched view of the future if we continue in the direction we are going but the beauty and the various unique elements of Sky Blue set it apart from similar movies to make a movie i'd definitely reccommend watching at least once.

Sky Blue is in fact the Korean animation film (not a Japanese anime) with the original title 'Wonderful Days'.
As far as I know there's no Japanese audio track for this movie but I might be wrong since I've seen it like years ago with Korean dub and English subs.
Trust me Sky Blue was released earlier than Ergo Proxy. I guess the fact that it's Korean, not Japanese, is why it took so long for it to be translated and released in other regions like the US or Europe.
Great movie though and definitely worth the time.

Yeah. I realise it is a korean film but the DVD box claims it has a Japanese soundtrack which just isn't there...
Sorry, I should have clarified that more :)
